Terms and Conditions
Last updated: January 2025
1. About these terms
These terms and conditions govern the relationship between British TIPS and clients who engage our travel consultancy and booking services. By requesting our services, you agree to these terms.
2. Our services
British TIPS acts as a travel consultant and booking agent. We arrange travel products and services on your behalf, including rail passes, accommodation, theatre tickets, transfers, and event tickets. We act as agent for the relevant suppliers.
3. Quotations and bookings
All quotations are subject to availability and supplier pricing at the time of booking. A quotation is not a confirmed booking. Confirmation requires:
- Your written acceptance of the quotation
- Payment of the required deposit
- Completion of any required booking forms
4. Payments
A deposit is required at the time of booking. The balance is due no later than 8 weeks prior to departure, or as otherwise agreed in writing. Payment terms will be detailed in your quotation.
5. Cancellations and amendments
Cancellation and amendment policies vary by supplier and booking type. We will advise you of the applicable terms at the time of booking. Once a booking is confirmed, cancellation fees may apply. We recommend comprehensive travel insurance.
6. Our liability
British TIPS acts as agent for suppliers and accepts no liability for the acts or omissions of those suppliers, or for any loss or damage arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Our liability is limited to the service fee paid to us.
7. Travel insurance
We strongly recommend that all clients arrange comprehensive travel insurance before travel, covering cancellation, medical, personal liability, and lost luggage. This is your responsibility.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
